How do I find OneSearch?

  1. Start from the Los Angeles Southwest College home page: www.lasc.edu
  2. Click on the Library button from the top menu
  3. Locate the "OneSearch" search box

How do I use OneSearch to find electronic books?

From the OneSearch box:

  1. Click on the OneSearch menu button to explore and select E-Books (LASC)
  2. Enter your search terms
  3. Click on the Search button
  4. Look at your search results and click on a relevant title
  5. Look at the information about the particular book, and under View Online, click on the link to access the e-book
  6. From off-campus, you must log in to access the databases:
    • In the Username box enter your complete student ID number
    • In the Password box enter your student password (the same password you use for Canvas and to register for classes)
  7. Click on Access options or Download to view the e-book. 
    • Note* Many of our e-books come from an EBSCO database called eBook Academic Collection, shown here
    • However, many of our other e-books can come from different resources
    • Take time to explore each screen​
  8. Scroll down to view all the pages in the electronic book

Exploring the Features from eBook Academic Collection 

Use the tools located in the top right corner to:illustration of the tools

  1. Download the ebook 
  2. Get the citation 
  3. Print
  4. Find book details 
  5. Open/close the table of contents
