What is PrepSTEP?

PrepSTEP is a self-guided resource that contains tutorials, practice tests, e-books, and additional resources.  It covers many topics ranging from math, computer skills, writing, reading, grammar, GED, and more.

To use this resource you have to create your own account, and this is so that you can track your progress. You must use the link below to gain access to your account and continue where you left off.  

How do I find PrepSTEP? 

 
  1. Start from the Los Angeles Southwest College home page: www.lasc.edu
  2. Click on the Library button from the top menu
  3. Become familiar with the page
  4. Click on the button for A to Z Databases
  5. Scroll down and click on PrepSTEP.
  6. From off-campus, you must log in to access the databases:
    • 6.1:  Enter your LACCD student email address
    • 6.2: Enter your LACCD portal password (same as Canvas/Register for classes).
    • 6.3: Follow the steps on your screen to "Verify" your account 
  7. Then create an account or sign-in if you already have a personal PrepSTEP account.

How do I create a personal PrepSTEP account and access the resources?

  1. Access PrepSTEP.
  2. Click on Sign In/Register.
  3. Click on Register.
  4. Fill out the form with your information.
    • You do not need to enter your "Student ID" or "Course Section".
  5. Click on Register.
  6. Click on Centers.
  7. Click on the desired collection category.
  8. Then click on the appropriate study material.
